These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of ItemRecover’s website, apps, and related services (the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity under it.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the Services.
2. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you upload (e.g. receipts, photos, PDFs, notes, documents, videos). You grant ItemRecover a limited license to host, store, and process your content solely to provide the Services (including generating Proof Packs, enabling tag-based recovery, and running scans you initiate).
3. Scanning features
If you use scanning features, you understand that extracted fields can be imperfect. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming details before relying on them for insurance, police reports, resale, or other decisions.
4. IR Tags, transfers, and missing-item mode
- IR Tags and codes can be activated and linked to your Passports as part of the recovery flow.
- Transfers are designed to establish chain-of-custody; ensure recipient details are correct before confirming.
- When you mark an item missing/stolen, certain information may be shown publicly to support recovery.
5. Purchases and payments
If you purchase tags or paid services, you agree to pay the displayed prices and applicable taxes/fees. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. Delivery times and availability may vary by location.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for unlawful, harmful, abusive, or fraudulent purposes.
- Attempt to access other users’ data or accounts without authorization.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services, including through automated scraping or abuse.
- Upload content you do not have the right to use.
7. Availability
We strive to keep the Services available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may modify or discontinue parts of the Services, or add limits, to protect users and the platform.
8. Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ItemRecover disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ItemRecover will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Services.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
